Hi, I’m Jaz! A curl specialist, salon owner and educator based in South Melbourne.
I’ve been in the hair industry for over 20 years and my passion for curls is deeply personal. Growing up with curly hair, I didn’t have access to the knowledge, products or support I desperately needed and like so many others, I was left to figure it all out on my own.
There was no curl education, no guidance, just a constant feeling of frustration and confusion about how to care for the hair I was born with.
That experience shaped everything for me.
It led me to build a career not just around cutting and coloring hair but around truly seeing my clients and helping them understand, embrace and love their natural texture.
I created Hair Retreat South Melbourne to be a safe, calm space where curls are celebrated and where people walk out not only looking amazing but feeling empowered with the tools and knowledge to care for their hair at home.
Now, as I expand into education, my goal is to bridge the gap I once felt so deeply, supporting both clients and fellow hairdressers in understanding curly hair, with simple, real-world styling techniques and product knowledge that make a difference.
